FAQS

Important information on making the most of your day and creating images you’ll cherish forever.

My job as your wedding photographer goes far beyond just taking pretty images from your day. It is my goal to be an asset and trusted member of your wedding team throughout planning, on the day and beyond. Gleaned from over a decade of experience documenting events, I’ve compiled the tips and information you need to know to make the most of this incredible time.

What Every Couple Should Know

A wedding day doesn’t just happen and neither does great photography.

It takes thoughtful planning to make that magic happen and so we work closely with our couples to craft a photography timeline and formal list that reflects their unique day and the logistical considerations of their event.

We strive to create an experience that allows you to enjoy the day, from the moment you get into your dress to your final dance - with space to soak in every moment in between.

More than just timeline preparation - candid, in the moment images, don’t come from checking things off a list.

Those images that feel like you, filled with emotion & authenticity, come from the trust you place in us to authentically capture moments as they unfold in front of our lens. Your vulnerability to fully embrace the day and the intention you set forth will come across in every image - and we will be there to capture it all.

Here’s your permission to feel it all - the happy tears as you walk down the aisle, the laugh you share during toasts, the twirl your Dad gives during your dance - don’t hold back. In return, we promise to hold these moments dear and capture them for you to cherish for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long have you been in business? What is your background in photography?

I graduated from Northeastern University in 2006, majoring in Photography & Journalism. Upon graduation I worked as a news photographer documenting breaking news & feature stories. In 2009 I started my photography business and went full time in 2011.

Where Are You Located? Do You Travel To Other Cities For Weddings?

I am based on the North Shore of Boston. I am available for travel throughout New England, domestically and internationally. Dream wedding destinations are Hawaii & New Zealand!

Can We Create a Customized Collection?

Absolutely. Since no two events are exactly alike, all of my collections are custom tailored to fit the unique needs of my clients. Email your wish list and share your day here. Full service wedding Collections begin at $7850.

Is Travel Included In Your Pricing?

Travel is calculated as part of custom tailoring your Collection and will be included in your quote. I handle and make all travel arrangements unless you specify otherwise.

What Is Your Approach?

Authentic, timeless and emotive. My goal is to deliver a portfolio of candid moments, & timeless portraiture that feels true to life and entirely you.

My shooting style is a mix of capturing moments in a candid and authentic manner while also provide gentle guidance from behind the camera allowing you and your loved ones to feel comfortable and at ease throughout the day.

I edited every image to adjust for color and exposure. My editing style is very minimal as I want your images to appear natural and timeless. I am drawn to a fine art style with hints of grain, texture and movement.

Should you desire additional retouching such as background adjustments, swapping heads or bodies, skin smoothing etc, I outsource this service to a professional retoucher at $150/hr.

The idea of being photographed makes us nervous. Can you help us Feel comfortable?

Absolutely! - naturally you may be nervous about being in front of the camera and it is my job to give you direction, guidance and lots of encouragement to enable you to feel comfortable and at ease. I’ll share verbal and visual direction so you know exactly what to expect while also giving you space to simply be yourself together.

Trusting in your photographer to take beautiful and heartfelt images will allow you to feel relaxed in front of the camera lending to images that feel natural and authentic - and totally you.

Can we provide you with a shot list?

Before the wedding day we will work together to create a family formal list that incorporates the important loved ones you’d like photographed on the wedding day. I will also ask you to share any important images you’d like taken such as special guests, events or heirlooms. Outside of organizing formals or special events, I do not work from a preconceived shot list. We are very thorough in our coverage of and I find working from a list can hinder me from authentically capturing your day and the moments happening around you.

How Do I Confirm My Wedding Date?

Once you’ve confirmed your date and we’ve created your Custom Collection, I will send a proposal and contract for review. Your signed contract and a non refundable deposit of one-third your total Collection secures your date with me. Your final payment is due 30 days before your event.

How Far In Advance Should We Book?

Most events are booked 6-12 months prior to the event date. Dates fill up quickly, so booking early is encouraged.

Do You Work With a Second Shooter?

Most Collections include a second photographer who works alongside me on the wedding day. The second photographer is a working professional photographer who is well versed in the ins and outs of a wedding day. Depending on the scale of the event, I may bring in an assistant or third photographer.

Do You Offer Videography?

I do not offer videography services however I enthusiastically recommend Willow Tree Films, Meg Simone Films & Selah Films.

What Equipment Do You Use?

I shoot exclusively with Canon equipment and I bring two back up cameras, batteries, cards, lenses and flashes to every wedding.

What Happens If You Get Sick?

If an emergency prevents me for being able to photograph your wedding day you will be notified and I will reach out to my network of area professionals to take my place. Additionally, if your Collection includes a second photographer, they can step up to lead photographer in the event of an emergency. Alternatively, would return your full investment and allow you to make your own arrangements if you so choose.

Do We Need An Engagement Session

An engagement session is a great opportunity to diminish any anxieties that may arise around being in front of the camera before the wedding day. Not only does it give you valuable experience being photographed, it is a chance for me to get to know you better and learn more about your relationship together.

Because of the trust we have built together coupled with the experience you’ve gained during your session, you are less likely to be nervous in front of the camera on the wedding day. In fact you may just forget you are being photographed, giving me the opportunity to capture images that are true to who you are with natural movement and authenticity.

Engagement sessions are available on Monday - Thursday. Your session includes travel up to 30 miles. Destination Engagement Sessions are also available, please inquire for a travel quote.

How do we receive our images?

Images are delivered via a personalized online gallery where you can view, print, share and download your images. These are high resolution un-watermarked images that you can download directly to your preferred device. You receive personal usage rights to these images. Engagement galleries are delivered within 4-6 weeks and wedding galleries delivered within 6-8 weeks.

How many images do we receive?

You will receive approximately 70-100 images per hour of coverage.

Wedding Tips

Work With Planner

A planner will work as your advocate allowing you to take a step back and fully embrace your day. I can’t stress enough how important this is and what a huge difference it can make in the success of your images and overall experience.

A planner can bring your unique vision to life and ensure that every detail is taken care of. From a photographer’s perspective that means we are freed to photograph the day and the real moments happening around us, instead of acting timeline wrangler and manager of the day.

Book An Engagement

Think of an engagement session as a way to express and celebrate your relationship. It’s your opportunity to have fun together in a relaxed and comfortable setting, capturing images of your relationship with authentic, natural and candid portraiture. A morning stroll at the beach, cocktails at your favorite restaurant, a hike through the woods, the options for your session endless - let’s get creative and craft a session that reflects your unique personalities and story as a couple.

Further, the engagement session is our opportunity to get to know one another and for you to gain valuable experience in front of the camera long before the wedding day - allowing you to feel at ease and ready to enjoy your wedding day!

Thoughtful Timeline

A well thought out timeline is an essential component to creating a collection of timeless portraits and candid moments from your wedding day. To allow time for the creation of classic portraits & meaningful candids it is important to work closely with your photographer to create a timeline that fits with your unique celebration, keeping sunset, time of year and ceremony timing at the forefront of your planning.

Getting Ready Location

Where you get ready, sets the tone and atmosphere for your day & your images. You want a space that has room for your loved ones, photographer, hair and makeup team. Consider a suite that has separated rooms to help eliminate clutter and create space for people to move about.

A suite that has ample window and natural light is imperative with classic styling that is reflective of your day and overall vibe.

A First Look

A First Look is an intentional time set aside for the couple to see each other before the ceremony. This period is meant to be an opportunity to express all that the day and this moment means to you, in a private and relaxed atmosphere. For many couples seeing each other before the ceremony helps to calm any nerves that have bubbled up while they were getting ready.

Beyond a special moment for the couple, a First Look gives flexibility on your wedding day. Having the majority, if not all, of your portraits done in advance means you can spend the rest of your day with your guests, enjoying and experiencing the day with them - and who wouldn’t love that?

Trust Your Team

Getting to know one another prior to booking is an important step to ensure that we are the perfect fit for one another. I love getting the chance to connect with inquiring couples to learn about their story & vision for their day to better understand their unique perspective.

It’s important that you fully trust your team to execute and document your day so that you can relax and be fully present for every moment you share together. The foundation of trust and relationship we build together before the wedding day is often the secret sauce to creating authentic and timeless images that feel like you.

I’d love to learn more about your upcoming celebration and

how we can create timeless, heirloom images you’ll treasure forever.
