On Saturday we celebrated Jonathan's first birthday with a big BBQ and party at our home! Since we never had an official house warming party we decided to lump the two things together. Our backyard was bustling with the squeals of babies and kiddos while parents relaxed and enjoyed the sunshine. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day, it was wonderful to be surrounded by those we loved celebrating the birthday of the best boy around!
While Jonathan's official birthday was last Wednesday, I decide to not "mourn" his transition from baby to toddlerhood until after his party. It is such a bittersweet transition too. I'm really looking forward to our time together as he begins to REALLY explore the world around him, but I won't lie, I sure do miss those days where he'd just cuddle in my arms (and sleep for hours;)). I'll have to settled for his great big bear hugs now :D!
