Star of the Show
Not sure how to start this post other than to say thank you. My heart is overflowing with thankfulness today as I look back on yesterday. Yesterday was a big day, as we filmed my upcoming promo video. It's been a dream of mine for several years now to have a promo video created and yesterday was a culmination of all that dreaming and planning. I can't wait to share it with you in it's entirety later this year, but for now here's a sneak peek of all the behind the scenes action!
This month's self portrait really could not have happened without the amazing support and help of some wonderful people. Amanda McCarthy graciously offered to drive all the way to the house to give me a mini makeover. Meghan Jones joined her and together they glammed me up and made me feel like a movie star, creating the perfect look for my promo video! Thank you ladies for your talent and friendship!
Tom and Melissa of Long Haul Films and their assistant Mia arrived to the house arms full of gear and donuts. Immediately they got to work transforming our home into what felt like the set of a movie! I think what I'll remember most about this experience is how comfortable Tom and Melissa made us all feel. I don't think we stop laughing the whole day, it was such a joy to work with them!
Diana and Jon walked into all the hustle and bustle of the morning. Cameras, lighting equipment and their wedding photographer sitting in the middle of the kitchen with the craziest hair they've probably ever seen. They chatted with the crew, loved on Maya and were amazingly gracious and helpful. They were so excited to support this little project of mine and I couldn't be more thankful to them. They'll be getting married in September and my hope is that I can give back to them everything they gave me yesterday!
Dave, who took a half day off of work to anxiously put his best actor foot forward, was my rock. I'm so grateful for a husband who supports me and encourages me and believes in me. I was a ball of nerves under my big smile and awkward laughter. But throughout the day he whispered "I'm so proud of you," giving me the courage to keep going. When I doubt, he believes and I'm very happy he'll be a part of all of this.
Here's a behind the scenes look of the craziness that was yesterday!Jon and Diana hired me for their September wedding but never got the chance for the at home client meeting experience. We were able to recreate our first client meeting together and talked about some important real wedding details! Honestly it was like reliving a first date and a therapy session all mixed into one ;) Here I was pretty excited about something. Mostly the amazing-ness of Downton Abbey and Parks and Rec. These are the types of things we get to talk about at client meetings :-p.Tom and Melissa of Long Haul Films are rock stars and couldn't have made this experience any more amazing! It really drove home the importance of not only working with a talented team but people who you trust and ENJOY spending time with! Here is my view of the whole process. I think this was the point where Jon asked when the explosions and alien invasions were going to happen. Nonono Jon, it isn't THAT kind of movie;)!Really, let's be honest, Maya was the star of the show yesterday. She hammed it up for all it was worth for her 15 minutes of fame. And gave extra licks as thank yous to the crew and talent;)I've been dreaming about this promo video for years now and I truly cannot believe that all the pieces have fallen together. I have amazing clients to work with, an amazing team to produce the video and an amazing husband to encourage me, all wonderful people who support me and worked together to make this dream a reality. Yesterday was fun, stressful, tiring, and amazing. I'm so, so grateful.
