Farm Inspired Baby Shower
This past weekend was SUCH the whirlwind. One of my best friends flew into town for my baby shower, there was of course my baby shower, on Saturday it was my birthday and Sunday we spent the day shopping in the city. Let me tell you, I was one pooped preggo lady come Monday! Hence why things were so quite around here yesterday. But despite how exhausted I might have been, it was such an incredible weekend!!
Our "theme" for lack of a better word for the baby's room is Gingham Farm. Inspired by good ole Pottery Barn, the little dude's room is filled with vibrant colors of blue, red, green, yellow, orange. On Saturday my amazing Mom and Sister in law took that inspiration and RAN with it!! I couldn't believe it when I walked into the baby shower and saw a room FILLED with amazing farm and gingham inspired details. It was PERFECT!! And wait until you see the cake!! Oh the cake, I couldn't even cut into it!
Many of my Bridesmaids were there to help decorate, set up, and just celebrate with us along with family and friends. It was wonderful to see a room filled with people I love. And while I'll admit that opening many, many, MANY, baby presents may have overwhelmed me just a tad, I couldn't have felt more loved. They even sang Happy Birthday to me!! Yes, I cried.
Opening those presents it started to hit me that soon, VERY, VERY soon, we'll have a newborn baby boy in our life. It's exciting and terrifying all at the same time! But being surrounded by people who are so incredibly excited for the arrival of our baby boy made my heart swell. They haven't even met him and yet they are completely in love. Pretty much how I feel! Last night we saw him moving around I tears filled my eyes. Pregnancy is such an amazing, amazing experience. I can only imagine what motherhood will be like.
Ok onto the shower!! Seriously between my Mom, my sister in law, my best friends and the guests, it was like Pinterest threw up in the dance studio where the shower was held. I was blown away by the talent!! (I mean c'mon, my mom made me a hospital gown, headbands, bags, baby towels, and by the month onesies, all inspired by Pinterest!) It was incredible! The first thing that greeted you was this AMAZING cake from Cakes for Occasions!! I was MADE to cut it, but I just wanted to keep like this forever! My sister in law and her husband have a garden in their back yard and jarred pickles for the favors!!! How perfect!!Apparently this was Dave's old farm set :-PPresents galore!!I loved this part of the shower! The messages were so incredibly sweet. We had lemonade!!And alcohol free sangria! ;)One of my Mom's Pinterest creations!Game time! There was even a onesie decorating station! This picture just cracks me up! Chillin' with my homies! As many of you know, my Grandmother passed away right after we found out we were pregnant last year. She loved to crochet and so my Mom surprised me with a few crocheted presents from my Gram for the little man. It was incredibly special and even though she wasn't physically there, a piece of her was. More tears...Tissues were a necessity! My sister in law made us the most AMAZING quilt!!! I couldn't get over it!!!More games...I love these ladies, besties since high school!!Sis in law, me and Mom in law!!Mom and I!!My dear friend Coco helped to capture these pictures from the shower! She even took time out to take a few pictures of me. It was so special to have these memories captured!Thank you all to made this day so so SO special!!
