Happy Birthday Little Man

It's here, Jonathan's First Birthday!! I've been thinking ahead to this day for months now, wondering what it would feel like to have a one year old. It's simply hard to believe that a year ago today we were working hard to bring this little guy into the world and now he's one. Someone once told me that in parenting the days are long but the years are short. I don't think there could be a more true statement. How long those first few nights felt, how long those first few days home alone were. And yet this year was over in the blink of an eye. I can still FEEL what it felt like to be with Jonathan and Dave those first two weeks. I can still remember what it was like to stay up late with our newborn. I can still experience the joy I felt when he rolled over on our kitchen floor, what spring time walks were like, what packing up boxes and playing in the summer was like. There were times this past year I found myself stopping, trying to burn and etch every memory into my mind, trying to save it forever. This last year was the best year of my life.

It doesn't end here. We have another year of firsts, fun adventures, and memories to make together! But this is a birthday post for the birthday boy and since we're on the topic of memories, I thought I'd share my favorites from this past year.
