Ah, the micro-wedding. An industry trend I never saw coming until 2020! What started off as a “trend” turned into something truly magical and meaningful throughout the year, filled with raw emotion and gratitude for the chance to say “I Do.” I saw this first hand for Christie & Crittie’s intimate celebration at Misselwood Estate last September.
With their original planned wedding pushed off until 2021, Christie & Crittie decided to move forward with their nuptials in an outdoor, socially distanced, intimate gathering. Originally, they had planned to get married by the ocean and were lucky enough to secure Misselwood Estate for their mirco-wedding which boasts sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Christie & Crittie kept things simple with a small guest list and minimal fuss. Because everything had been paired down, the moments became the star. Everyone in attendance, including the couple, knew how lucky they were to be getting married, how lucky they were for their families health and how lucky they were to have each other. Each moment and emotion felt big and honest and joyful, a delight to document.
With smaller events comes time. And we made the most of that time together exploring Misselwood’s beautiful property, taking portraits on the rocks overlooking the Atlantic and giving Christie & Crittie time to truly soak in the moment. While I can’t wait to celebrate with them again in September, I’ll always remember the feeling of happiness this day delivered in it’s intimate, joyful celebration. I hope Christie & Crittie do too.
