A Fenway Park Engagement Session
I really didn't plan it this way...who knew that the Red Sox would be in the World Series?! But how appropriate to share this adorable Fenway engagement session with you today after a victory in Game One last night! Often couples will seek my advice when it comes to the location of their engagement session, and of course I'm always happen to offer any suggestions that I can. But when it came time for Mark and Marlo to pick a spot they knew exactly what they wanted.
Both Mark and Marlo are born and raised New Englanders, and the Red Sox (heck all Boston sports) have a special spot in Mark and Marlo lives. So last week we braved the crowds and headed to Fenway Park to enjoy some time walking around the field and enjoying the excited spirit that surrounded the park. We, ok Mark, even spotted some Red Sox as we walked. Too bad we didn't ask them to hop in a picture or two...
Mark and Marlo met while studying at the University of Connecticut and instantly became best friends. Adorable really, and their friendship shines brightly still. You can tell that they truly enjoy being together and have built a beautiful foundation for their marriage. I loved spending the afternoon with them and simply cannot wait to celebrate as they marry next summer at Regatta Place. Whether or not you love the Red Sox, I just know you'll adore this couple and this session as much as I did. Congrats Marlo and Mark, I can't wait for next July!!
The Red Sox have grown beards for this 2013 season, which have now become infamous. Of course we had to take pictures in front of this amazing poster!!The area around Fenway is quite industrial and this alley way is one of my favorites spots to explore!!Definitely a favorite from the day...trash and all;)!I kept joking that I gave Mark and Marlo the "hard" poses first...but seriously they rocked it out!!How adorable are they?!Gate E is one of my favorite spots to photograph outside of the park....HOT!!Doesn't Marlo look like Topanga from Boy Meets World right here?! The park was bustling with activity but we managed to find a few angles that weren't cluttered with spectators. After a quick jaunt to Kenmore Square we were off to the Public Garden for the rest of their session! (This being right after Mark spotted Ryan Dempster walking down the street...:))Before they changed outfits we took a few moments to grab some portraits with one of the only trees left with foliage in the park... it made for a beautiful backdrop! How stunning is Marlo's ring?! Her Burberry scarf made for the perfect backdrop too:).I know, I know, I'm a sucker for twirling photos...but how could I not be with this amazing light?!These two know how to work it!!The next series are some of my favorites...the light, the couple, the location, it was perfection.Sometimes direct sunlight can be scary (harsh shadows, strong highlights) but in this case I think it worked beautifully!!I love when couples trust me enough to take risks...Mark and Marlo have no problem climbing this rock with a host of people looking on. I'm so glad they did because these last images were my favorite from the day, thank you guys!!
