We moved into our home over two months ago. Right away we successfully opened and unpacked every box but were not so successful at putting the contents of those boxes away!! Our hallways are still filled with STUFF. Every day I walk by it, my eye starts to twitch. But despite my OCD tendencies to get EVERYTHING done at once, we've taken our time to settle into the home, to live with it for a while and to figure out exactly how we want to make it OURS.
This past weekend my husband and I buckled down and completed one room in our new home, Jonathan's room. We might have cheated a little, as this was the only room in our last home that was "finished". We simply moved some furniture around, rethought a few pieces of decor and voilà, we were done! I absolutely love this part of the house, the sun shines so brightly in this room and it makes it a joy to raise Jonathan in. I love sitting in his chair rocking him to sleep (or at least trying), watching as Dad plays with his son, and observing Jonathan as he explores the world around him.
I'm sure this room will change as Jonathan grows, but for now I love his farm themed nursery!! So sit back and enjoy the first room of our house tour!!
Here are a few before and then LOTS of afters!Lots of reds, yellows, blues and greens!!Can you spy the baby?!One of my favorite spots in the room is this little nook near his books, perfect for playing and reading!Dave worked really hard this weekend to hang the bunting just right... I'm so happy with the way this little DIY project came together!!There are lots of sheep in Jonathan's room! Unfortunately he thinks the sheep mobile is a toy and so we've had to retire it to the closet...I made this during a snow storm and seven months pregnant...and while I was proud of my craftiness (which is rare for me!), Dave likes to tease me because I painted a Rooster laying eggs...Has anyone read Otis?! Then you know who that is on the right:).So there it is, Jonathan's nursery... a room I spend more time in these days than my office. I'm so happy we've created it to be a retreat and a special place just for J. Next up... the rest of our house;)!
