Matt & Lizzie’s wedding day was a long time coming. Originally planned for a 2020 celebration, the couple postponed their wedding when Covid hit like many were forced to do last year. Earlier this spring, on an unseasonably warm early April Saturday, Matt and Lizzie finally celebrated together with their loved ones - and it was everything they had hoped for and more.

Taylor and Joe knew that their wedding day had to personal, they had to share a special connection to the place where they would share their vows. They knew that the perfect place to host their ceremony would be the the very lake where they first said “I Do” and where they have created many happy memories together over the years.

If there is one thing about New England that is predictable, is that weather in New England is completely unpredictable. Sunny one moment, rainy the next. And that's exactly what Mother Nature gave us on Genna & Max's wedding day. Off and on rain, mist and some incredibly beautiful fog. But despite the up and down of the weather, Genna and Max remained steady - both grounded in the happiness they shared to finally be at this moment together, their wedding day.
Married on Cape Cod, where they spend much time together as a couple and with family, Genna & Max were delighted to share this special place with their loved ones. They filled their day with nautical and classic details, a perfect compliment for their coastal New England celebration!! Enjoy some of my absolutely favorites from the day!!

I knew that Alli & Brendan's wedding day would be nothing short of chic and elegant with a touch of nautical inspired design and it did not disappoint!! They day was filled with beautiful touches that highlighted the seaside vibe of Newport and reflected the couple's effortless style. Don't miss Alli's amazing Tiffany blue stacked heels -- swoon!!
The couple celebrated their wedding day in Newport, a charming and historical port city. They were one of the first couples to marry at the brand new Newport Beach House which offered sweeping views of the ocean. It was a delight to step right on to the beach from the patio and enjoy the ocean breeze throughout the day. While it may have been seasonably chilly for Memorial Day, it never dampened the cheerful spirit of the day!!
Alli & Brendan are two incredibly down to earth people. While extremely accomplished in their own right, they stay grounded in their love for family and each other. It was a joy to document their wedding day and to celebrate alongside their loved ones. It was a day filled with happy tears, laughter and LOTS of dancing!! Thank you Alli & Brendan for your kind and generous spirit!! It was a blast to be a part of your day!!

Grace & Sam met while studying at MIT -- they are an incredibly smart couple. This was made clearly evident during their reception as their Best Man and Matron of Honor shared countless stories of how Grace & Sam have used their intelligence to serve others. I think that's what I love most about these two. Both very smart but also incredibly generous. Sam and Grace spend much of their free time teaching, encouraging and lifting others up -- leading by example and using their knowledge to help others.
Lovers of board games and bubble tea they chose to fill their wedding day with details that reflected their unique personalities and interests as a couple. Friends and family gathered from Boston and across the globe to celebrate with them -- the church and reception were packed with loved ones. Grace and Sam walked down the aisle to raucous cheers and HOORAYS, you could feel how loved this sweet couple is.

Kenny and Melissa have been together since high school and so their wedding had become something very special to them. It marked the end of one chapter of their relationship but opened the doors to something new and exciting. One of my favorite moments of the day was as the doors to the Martha Mary Chapel opened and Melissa appeared. Kenny's eyes filled with tears, overcome with this moment and all that it meant for them. Years together already but a lifetime of adventures ahead.

If you live in New England you know just how long this winter has been. If you don't, let me try to find the words... In short I feels like we're living in a perpetual snow globe where the temperature doesn't rise above freezing and there's almost a guarantee that if you let your guard down even for a second, it will snow. But despite what has been one of the most depressing winter seasons in years, this last weekend after months of cold and drear, the skies cleared, the air warmed and one of the most beautiful days this year appeared. Spring won the day on Saturday creating a spectacular day for Paul and Emma's wedding, a day that we weary New Englanders have only dreamed of!!
Paul and Emma held all of the days festivities at the The Royal Sonesta in Cambridge. The hotel offers sweeping views of the city skyline, the reason why Emma and Paul chose the venue. The city holds such a dear part in their hearts it was only fitting that it be the backdrop to such an important day in their relationship. The day couldn't have been more "them" either. Emma in a fun and flirty Allure gown and sparkly jewelry, Paul in a casual but tailored grey suit and surrounded by fun purple accents throughout. But beyond their stunning details, it was truly Paul and Emma who stole the show. I don't think I've seen such a happier couple on their wedding day, Emma radiated with joy and Paul couldn't have looked more proud than he was to have Emma by his side.

Several months ago I got the itch. I wanted to do something creative, experiment and just PLAY. Often I get so caught up in the day to day tasks of running a small business that I don't take enough time to just enjoy being a photographer. I knew that if I didn't make the time to spend a day just shooting that I never would. And I knew that if I felt this way, that there had to be others who did too. So I put something out there expecting that maybe one or two people would want to join me for an afternoon of fun. Instead over 40 people responded saying they wanted in too! Wow, I was blow away. One thing led to another and a few days later I was putting together a styled shoot, organizing vendors, locations and what the day would look like. We all pooled our resources, connected with other vendors and worked together to create something really special. When Monday finally came, I couldn't believe what we had accomplished together!
That afternoon, we had FUN. There was no expectations, no right or wrong, just a time for us to get behind the camera and work. And that's exactly what we did. We enjoyed an afternoon focusing on what we're passionate about: making beautiful images.
I have to thank the amazing people who worked diligently behind scenes to give us amazing details to photograph. I'm so grateful to each person who lent their time, talent and creativity for this shoot! (Their information is listed below if you are looking for some fabulous vendors for your wedding!)
Finally a HUGE thank you goes out to Jenn and the crew at the Elm Bank Horticultural Society who graciously allowed us access to the Elm Bank event facilities and property. They let us take over for the afternoon and gave us the space to host the event. Without them there would be no shoot! They were amazing and I'd HIGHLY recommend Elm Bank if you are looking for a beautiful and romantic venue around the Boston area!
If you're feeling discouraged or that you're just going through the motions as a photographer, get out there and work! Make some time just for you. Block it out on your calendar. No distractions, just you and your camera. As artists it's so important for us to do this, to reconnect with what we love about photography. It could be as simple as photographing your dog. Whatever it is, that time spent shooting for FUN will take you leaps and bounds in your craft. So get out there and shoot!
Without further adieu here is our labor of love, a styled shoot at Elm Bank!

Practice Makes Perfect at Elm Bank
Last year I heard another local wedding photographer, Binita Patel, speaking about putting in practice hours when it comes to our photography. Something really connected with me in that statement; the idea of continually trying to improve my craft through hours of practice and experimentation. I decided that if I felt that way, then there must be others out there who also wanted an opportunity to practice and experiment. So a few months ago I made an announcement in one of the photography forums I belong to seeing if there was interest to put together something. I was completely overwhelmed with the response of other photographers who not only wanted to participate but who connected us with vendors, models and props! Yesterday everything came together for an afternoon of fun! The beautiful venue of Elm Bank graciously allowed us to use their facilities to host the event and it went off perfectly! 20 or so photographers gathered together to have fun and enjoy what we are passionate about: photography! I can't wait to share more from this shoot with you later this week but for now enjoy this sneak peek!
Happy Anniversary Ben & Liz!
One year ago I had the honor of standing next to Liz as she promised her life to her best friend Ben during a beautiful ceremony in New Hampshire. Over this year I've watched as Ben and Liz have grown into their own as a couple and as they've dreamed for the future. Dave and I are so incredibly blessed to call these two our dear friends and I'm so excited to see what the next year has in store for them! I wish you two a wonderful anniversary! Here's to many more years of love and laughter together!
The Country Club Brookline Wedding | John & Carissa
It's in the way that he whispers you are beautiful. It's in the way that his hand gently touches her back. It's in the way that she laughs at his jokes. It's in the way that she speaks to him. John and Carisa have a love all their own, a special language that just the two of them speak.
John and Carisa said "I do" on May 14 in front of their friends and family. They were married at the Church of the Redeemer followed by their reception at The Country Club both in Chestnut Hill. I was honored to be there to document part of their special day. Here are just some of my favorites.
John and Carisa, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your special day. Here's to a lifetime of speaking a language all your own.
