Editorial Maternity Session at the Ames Studio

Getting to spend time in a studio setting this year has filled my creative cup more than I thought possible. Working with clients who have a vision and appreciation for studio work is the cherry on top. I was thrilled to collaborate once again with Hannah, a long time client, to celebrate her pregnancy and her eager anticipation to welcome their baby girl into the world.

This studio maternity session re-ignited in me my love for studio photography. It has been quite some time since I had the opportunity work in a studio as most of my creative work is done on location. Having the creative freedom to experiment with a trusting client was a real treat for me as an artist. She trusted in my vision and as a result we were able to create some magic together.

I hope that this session is just the start of my studio magic to come - and I am grateful for my clients who take chances right alongside me.

At Home Newborn Session

What a joy it was to help celebrate the arrival of this sweet baby girl. Quiet, gentle, cherished are just some of the words that come to mind when I think of this session. Both Mom and Dad just delighted to welcome their daughter home and into their lives. Crane Beach Family Session

I feel very fortunate (and so darn lucky) that I have the opportunity to follow couples on their life journey together. From engagement to wedding to growing a family, it’s a privilege I do not take for granted. For this special family, I have been able to document their journey from engaged couple to life as Mom & Dad.

On a beautiful summer evening we dug our toes into the sand as their little one explored the magic of Crane Beach. From the soft sand to the splashing waves, to chasing the sea birds, it was a a magical time at one of the most beautiful beaches on the North Shore.

It a gift to be invited into someone’s life in this way and something that is unique to being a photographer. To look back on these images, I am filled with gratitude to be witness to how love grows.

I love working with black and white images. Maybe it’s because I learned photography through black and white film work. Maybe it’s because some of the first photographers I became familiar with worked in black and white. Perhaps it’s the simplicity of a black and white image that draws me in the most.

So when a client comes to me and shares that they love black and white images, the creative in my heart soars. I delighted in creating a collection of black and white images for this family as they welcomed their son home.

Even after all these years I still find see and appreciate the magic of a still frame, a simple black and white image and the power photography has to share the story of life.

New Hampshire Newborn Session

For over a decade Liz and Pat have entrusted me with their most cherished memories. It is wild to even type that out. They were some of my earliest clients and I’ll always be grateful to have been given the opportunity to document their wedding day. Our working experience has lead to a dear friendship and now the privilege of documenting as their family has grown over the years.

Wanting to celebrate the arrival of Baby J, Liz and Pat opted for a relaxed session at home where they could cuddle together as siblings ran about, occasionally stopping to offer Baby J a kiss or snuggle.

Newburyport Newborn Session

Welcoming their third boy, Karissa & Tanner chose to celebrate his arrival with a relaxed lifestyle newborn session at the Newburyport Studio in downtown Newburyport. Bathed in soft, diffused lighting we let the session unfold taking cues from their sweet older boys who simply wanted to love on their newest little brother.

In the quiet (and rambunctious) moments with their boys, Karissa and Tanner celebrated what their love had created. It was a privilege to document this connection and welcome in a new season as a family of five.

At Home Preemie Newborn Session

With a name like Georgia, you’re bound to be as sweet as a peach. I had the privilege of meeting this little fighter shortly after she joined her family at home, much to the delight of her parents.

A nursery dedicated to all things girly & peach provided the perfect backdrop for this darling session. With an easy approach keeping the focus on comfort, Mom, Dad and Baby enjoyed a relaxing session together while celebrating the big and small milestones that brought them to that exact place - at home with their sweet baby girl.

Cozy Winter Newborn Session At Home

Last fall I had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful family when we connected to photograph their updated family portraits. Just a few short months later, Lindsay reached back out to share that they were expecting a baby and would love to capture all the joy of welcoming their daughter into world. I had the privilege of meeting this beautiful family this past spring as they welcomed their newest arrival. This being their third baby, Mom and Dad wanted images that celebrated the growth of their family while also showcasing their beautiful baby girl. Of course this meant lots of snuggles and embracing a soft pink color palette. It was a joy to help capture this moment and all the beauty of welcoming a new little one into the world!
