At Home Family Session in Boston's South End

Diana and Ankur welcomed their darling baby girl Olivia into the world earlier this year. Being the Holidays and the start of a new year just around the corner, they wanted to celebrate their family of three with a portrait session in their home.

On a chilly December afternoon we snuggled up in Olivia's nursery, a beautiful ode to all things pink, grey and cream. Olivia bounced in her crib, snuggled in her father's arms and giggled at the silly sounds Mom would make to get her to smile. It was lovely time and I feel so thankful to have had the opportunity to meet and photograph this beautiful family.

At home sessions are some of my favorite to photograph. Clean, bring space where my clients can feel comfortable and relaxed. They are a mix of lifestyle and posed portraiture. But most important they focus on the deep connection my clients have to each other. And when I can capture that on my camera -- well that's the good stuff.

Thank you Diana & Ankur for welcoming me to your home!! Gosh those baby cheeks, they are the best!! Enjoy some of my favorite images!!

Bostonian Hotel Wedding | Kate & Don

Boston means a lot of Kate and Don and they knew that they wanted the city to play a central focus on their wedding day. They chose beautiful St Joseph's Church in Kate's old neighborhood to host their ceremony and the chic Bostonian Hotel in the heart of the city to host their reception. With a view overlooking Quincy Market & Faneuil Hall, it was the perfect backdrop for their very Boston winter wedding.

The day was accented with thoughtful touches like pinecones in Kate's bouquet and gold accents at the reception. A bag piper played as Kate was escorted down the aisle by her father. The wedding party wore shawls and fur stoles. All in all it was the perfect winter wedding.

Kate & Don are two of the sweetest people you will ever meet. They both have smiles that can light up a room and have a way of making you feel like life long friends. Throughout the night friends and loved ones shared some of their favorite memories of this darling couple, but what they continued to come back to again and again is the generous and loving spirit Kate & Don have.

Kate & Don thank you for allowing us to be a part of your beautiful day!! Enjoy some of my favorite images!!

Product Highlight | Signature Album

This past summer I had the honor of photographing Molly & Andrew's estate wedding at the Glen Manor House tucked away on the shores of the Sakonnet River. It was a glorious summer day, the perfect backdrop for their blush and cream inspired wedding theme. Molly stunned in her Pronovias gown from Madeleine's Daughter while Andrew and his groomsmen looked handsome and dapper in their light grey suits.

Molly & Andrew chose the Signature Album bound in a light linen fabric, a perfect compliment their summer wedding. I hope that their album is something they can share with family and loved ones for years to come!!

Take a peak inside their album!!

Crane Beach Engagement Session in Ipswich

These two brave souls met me on a cold early fall morning for their engagement session at Crane Beach in Ipswich. Crane Beach is one of my favorite places on earth and it was joy to share this special spot with Kirsten & Paul!! We met just as the sun was rising above the horizon and were greeted by an empty beach -- the ocean was still, the sand was smooth, it was a peaceful start to a beautiful engagement session!! Enjoy some of my favorites!!

*I'm secretly-not-so-secretly THRILLED to incorporate several film frames into this blog post -- can you spot which images are film??! Developed and scanned by the Find Film Lab. Photographed with Canon EOS 1V 35mm on Portra 400

Fall Family Session at Laudholm Farm in Wells, Maine

This dear family holds a very special place in my heart -- they were one of my very first clients and have championed by business over the years. I've had the joy of photographing their love story, from anniversary session to maternity session and it's been a delight to watch as their family has grown.

On an unseasonably cold and blustery fall afternoon I met up with this family of five at Laudholm Farm in Wells, Maine. As the sun set behind the clouds we played tag, bribed the kids with cookies and managed to get everyone to sit down for a few frames together ;) Enjoy a few of my favorite images from their family session!

(PS : You may recognize Sarah from her popular running blog, Run Far Girl and as a contributing blogger for Women's Running!!)

Rainy Boston College Engagement Session

Alli & Brendan met while studying at Boston College -- and while their studies and careers have taken the couple to different parts of the country, Boston College continues to be a special place for them. On a misty and early fall morning, we met on campus and explored this beautiful place.

As the rest of campus began preparing for an Eagles football game, Alli & Brendan reminisced. Remembering fondly how they met, the classes they took and where it all began. In between bursts of rain, we took advantage of the beautiful architecture, finding archways and nooks to sneak away to.

Alli & Brendan will celebrate the next chapter of their love story this spring in Newport. Until then they'll continue to pursue their dream careers and plan for their future. For a brief moment this fall their busy worlds aligned. Rain and all, Alli & Brendan were reminded of all that they are working towards : a life spent together.

Enjoy some of my favorite images from their day!!

The State Room Wedding | Phoebe & Kevin

As the sun set over the city, Phoebe and Kevin were married in a heartfelt and intimate ceremony at the State Room overlooking the city skyline & Boston Harbor. Surrounded by their closest family and friends they committed their lives to one another, read their own vows and giggled together as their officiant recounted stories of their relationship. With the ring warming, a tradition where the wedding rings are passed to each guest, it felt like everyone has a small part in the beginning of their new chapter together.

Phoebe and Kevin's day was an elegant affair, encompassing everything they loved about the city. Getting ready down town, having their first look at Post Office Square and then hosting their ceremony and reception overlooking the city's skyline, Boston played a central part in their wedding day -- the perfect setting for this couple who met here in Boston.

Phoebe & Kevin, thank you for inviting us to be a part of your day. We were honored to be there to photograph this next chapter of your life together!! Enjoy some of my favorite images!!

Fall Inspired Maternity Session

Paul & Emma are expecting their first child this Christmas and I was delighted to photograph their maternity session amongst the beautiful foliage earlier this fall. Paul and Emma are past DZP clients (view their wedding & engagement session), so being able to help them celebrate this incredible time of life is a huge honor. This down to earth couple are taking this new adventure in stride and cannot wait to welcome a soccer playing baby boy into this world ;)!! Until then, they are soaking up this time together, eagerly anticipating the arrival of their son. On a unseasonably warm fall day we met at Minute Man National Historical Park and explored the open fields that encompass this beautiful place.

Emma and Paul, I am beyond thrilled for you both and this new adventure you are embarking on together!! Enjoy my favorites from your beautiful maternity session!!

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween Friends!! It's hard to believe another year has rolled on by -- last year I actually missed Halloween having been stranded in Austin after their airport flooded!! But this year we're home and we took full advantage of a weekend together to celebrate fall. On Friday we took Jonathan to our church's Fall Festival -- a night of games, food and of course costumes and candy. On Saturday hung out with cousins, played in the leaves and visited some farm animals. Then on Sunday I helped Jonathan carve two pumpkins -- he was beyond thrilled to have his very own jack-o-lantern!!

Each year for the past three Halloweens my Mom and Dad have made Jonathan's costume. Growing up each year my Mom would hand sew my own Halloween costumes and they were incredible!! It's been a fun tradition to pass along to Jonathan -- but this year he wanted to be a fireman and well, we already had everything needed to be the Fire Chief!! So you guessed it, this year Jonathan was a Fire Chief for Halloween, complete with a water pump back and megaphone!!

In celebration of Halloween, candy and all things FUN, I thought I'd share Jonathan's Halloween costumes from the past three years -- this will be his fourth Halloween!! How can that be?!! Enjoy!!

Fall Anniversary Session at Willowdale Estate

Emily & Dan chose to celebrate their belated first anniversary with an anniversary session at Willowdale Estate on Boston's North Shore. I loved having the opportunity to re-connect with this sweet couple who tied the knot last summer. We roamed the beautiful grounds, enjoyed the glorious fall weather and reminisced about their beautiful wedding day on the South Shore (how was that over a year ago?!)

Emily & Dan have such great style -- a cozy outfit to cuddle up in and a tailored dressed up look to celebrate in style!

I'm always thrilled to be asked to photograph past clients. Being able to be a part of their lives, to celebrate the milestones of marriage through the art of photography, is something I am incredibly grateful for.

Thank you Emily & Dan for asking me to help you celebrate your first anniversary!! Enjoy some of my favorite images!!

Red Lion Inn | Brianna & Keith

As a red head myself, when in the company of other redheads, there is an unspoken bond -- a sisterhood of hair if you will. So imagine my delight when I walked into Briana's getting ready suite to discover that not only did Briana have beautiful red hair but her sisters did as well!! Right then, I knew it was going to be an amazing day!!

And what an amazing day it was!! Briana and Keith chose to marry at the Red Lion Inn --  Briana immediately fell in love with the rustic charm of the barn -- the perfect compliment to their gorgeous fall wedding day. The day was accented with rich hues of blue and plum, wild organic flowers and a touch of elegant prep.

But what I loved most about the day was being able to witness Briana & Keith together. The couple met while working as camp counselors years ago. And yet, years after they met, Keith still makes Briana light up. Keith still beams with pride when by Briana's side. They still laugh together as if they were first dating, it's clear that these two are best friends -- a strong foundation that will carry them through this life together!!

Briana and Keith, thank you for inviting us to be part of your amazing day!! I hope you enjoy some of my favorite images!!

Fall Wedding at the Nashoba Valley Winery

Taryn and Jim had one of the most spectacular fall days...ever. New England has this funny of way of being unpredictable and you never quite know what kind of weather you'll get for your wedding day. Taryn and Jim hit the jackpot of weather with clear blue skies, a warm fall October sun and some of the prettiest foliage we've seen all season. It was everything they could have hoped for in their fall wedding at the Nashoba Valley Winery!!

Taryn and Jim held an intimate celebration for their closest family and friends amongst the grape vines and overlooking the valley. Taryn accented the day with hues of plum and purple -- the perfect compliment to their wedding venue. But what made their day truly special were the people that they were surrounded by - people who love this couple deeply. I hope that Jim and Taryn tangibly felt that support throughout their day. It's a testament to how kind, generous and loving Taryn and Jim are.

Taryn & Jim, thank you for inviting us to be part of your day!! Enjoy some of my favorite images!!

Fairmont Copley Plaza Wedding | Erica & Mark

It rained and rained and rained and rained -- then it rained some more. Hurricane Matthew made it's appearance known this past Sunday with a day full of wet and blustery conditions. The rain came steady and didn't let up until late until the evening. You know what they say though, rain is good luck on your wedding day!!

It rained on our wedding day and when the black storm clouds rolled in I cried big ugly tears. So I would have completely understood if the rain dampened Erica & Mark's spirits this past Sunday. But when I walked into the getting ready suite at the Fairmont, instead of tears I was greeted with smiles and hugs and an ever cheerful Erica. No rain was going to quell her joy to be marrying the love of her life!!

I think that is one of the things that I love most about these two. They have a strong understanding about the things that are important to them in life -- everything else comes second. No Hurricane was going to take that from them!! Luckily they chose the spectacular Fairmont Copley Plaza to host their wedding which offered a beautiful backdrop for their images. We stayed dry and warm inside, exploring all the unique corners of the luxurious lobby.

Erica and Mark -- thank you again for inviting us to be a part of your day. We were honored to witness as you became Husband and Wife!! Enjoy some of my favorite images of the day!!
